Today, the International Congress for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms “Svit,” supported by the selfless volunteer movement, organized a symphony of cultural unity in Herzogenrath, Germany for local residents and Ukrainians temporarily residing with our hospitable friends. The gathering was adorned with a Christmas concert, which became the highlight of the event, an ode to common humanity and festive joy. Our German friends were able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of our culture, customs, and traditions.
Throughout the event, the air resonated with touching motifs of Christmas songs. Carolers from different parts of Ukraine visited us with the best wishes for the new year. Their voices merged with the ringing melodies of traditional musical instruments: bandura, sopilka, accordion, and others. German singer Marlaine Maas, who wholeheartedly supports Ukraine, and the colorful Ukrainian singer, TV presenter, and volunteer T. Sonya also joined us.
For children, the evening became a special wonder, as St. Nicholas, who came from the distant expanses of Kharkiv, brought sleighs with Christmas gifts, lighting up smiles and sparks of joy.
Guests, enveloped in the warmth of friendly communication, enjoyed the heartfelt taste of homemade dumplings and traditional Christmas kutia, each piece of which reminded of love and care invested in their preparation.
In this gathering of hearts and cultures, a cozy Christmas atmosphere flourished, nurturing a good mood that knew no boundaries of language. It was an evening when the spirit of Christmas was not just celebrated but deeply felt—a testament to the unbreakable power of human connection and the unifying joy of shared traditions.
