The aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine affected all spheres of our society. In the 21st century, after many years of peaceful life and development, Ukraine once again faced a war on its territory, which actualized the importance of national-patriotic education as a priority direction of the state and society, regarding the development of national consciousness based on social-state values (identity, will, unity , dignity, independence), formation of a sense of patriotism, respect for the Constitution and laws of Ukraine.
The idea of strengthening Ukrainian statehood, formation of patriotism and affirmation of national values is the basis of the system of national-patriotic education of youth. At the current stage, when our country is in a state of war, the primary priority remains the education of young people in the spirit of patriotism, love and respect for their country, conscious readiness to defend the country.
Forms of education
The main forms of national-patriotic education of youth are:
- informational mass (discussions, debates, conferences, quizzes, evenings, trips to sources of native culture, state history);
- activity-practical (creative groups, excursions, holidays, reviews-competitions, Olympiads);
- interactive (festivals, circles);
- individual (assignments, creative tasks).
The national spirit should prevail in educational institutions, all solemn events should be held using national and state symbols: start with the National Anthem of Ukraine and introduction of the State flag. National-patriotic education is included in the system of educational and educational activities: in lectures and outside of them, teachers must educate a personality with an active civic position.
State language
The leading role in the education of young people belongs to Ukrainian language as the spiritual core of the nation. Schoolchildren must realize that without mastering the state language it is impossible to become a full-fledged citizen of their state and simply an intelligent person, a qualified specialist in any branch of the economy. Therefore, great attention should be paid to the preservation and multiplication of spiritual values, cultural national traditions, respectful attitude to the Ukrainian language.
This is evidenced by annual events honoring prominent Ukrainians:
- “Days of Ukrainian writing and language”;
- “Days of the native language”;< /li>
- “Language as a historical category”;
- “Origin and development of Ukrainian literacy”.
Education seekers take part in the International Competition of Native Language Experts every year named after Petr Yatsyk, Taras Shevchenko International Language and Literary Competition for Pupils and Student Youth, regional reader competition “Shevchenko with us”. fostering a sense of pride for one’s land, for one’s people.

You, return home…
Your relatives are eagerly waiting for you,
Not looking at the crazy fatigue< /p>
The guys won’t give up their positions!!!
They keep the defense of the city strong,
They guard the borders like a shield,
There are thousands of you, not a hundred not three hundred…
May the angels protect you from grief!!!
You are in peak villages, heavy berets,
There are many such girls there,
That you left your heart at home,
And became protected among your own!!!
You return home soon…
Where are the days waiting for you count, pray and wait!!!
Regardless of the crazy fatigue…
May your protective angels stand up!!!
Volunteer work
In the formation of the national and patriotic consciousness of young people, an important role is played by involving them in volunteer activities.
Students of the school took an active part in the all-Ukrainian charity event “Brave Hryvnia”, which consists in collecting coins, which are rarely used by citizens for cash payments. In order to revive these coins and make them truly effective and bold, they must be collected and handed over to the bank for the needs of the Armed Forces. The school received an honorary certificate for effective participation in the campaign.
Volunteers and teaching staff took part in a charity fundraiser for the purchase of chargers for mobile groups of the Armed Forces. As a result of joint efforts, thirteen educational institutions of the city’s professional and technical institutes purchased eleven chargers for the needs of the defense forces (in particular, combat units of the National Guard of Ukraine).
Students of the “Kharkiv Higher Vocational School of Garment Production and Household” used the collected funds to purchase fabric and sew men’s shirts and underwear to change clothes for defenders of Ukraine. These sewing products were given to volunteers, who have been engaged in such work for more than one month, to be presented to our defenders.
On the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the students of Kharkiv Oblast supported the morale of our soldiers with the help of poems and video greetings during educational hours. and appeals. They remembered the history of the holiday and the importance of commemorating the soldiers, thanks to whom we can today walk the streets of our hometown and sleep in our beds, work, study.
