Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights
Dmytro Lubinets, Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, participated in a working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and authorized persons responsible for the activities of the educational centers “Crimea-Ukraine” and “Donbas-Ukraine “. He emphasized that the conditions of war significantly complicate access to quality education for pupils and students in the temporarily occupied territories.
Lubinets noted problems such as the lack of quality education, normal learning conditions and limited access to information resources. He also noted the damage to schools and universities due to military actions, which limits the opportunities for applicants.
In this context, Lubinets expressed indignation that the Russian Federation facilitates the entry of citizens from the temporarily occupied territories into its educational institutions, even without Russian citizenship. He called for active work on educational initiatives and solving the problems of pupils and students from the temporarily occupied territories.
Lubinets also announced conducting a survey among students and monitoring the activities of the “Crimea-Ukraine” educational centers. and “Donbas-Ukraine”. Its purpose is to create an analytical report that will be publicly presented at the national level, for a better understanding of the problems of the admission campaign and improvement of the admission conditions of youth with TOT to Ukrainian educational institutions. Lubinets expressed hope that an open discussion will contribute to finding the right solutions and improve learning conditions.
Together with representatives of state bodies, a meeting with family members of missing and captured Mariupol servicemen. Representatives of various agencies took part in the event, including the Coordination Headquarters, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and others.
Relatives expressed not only questions, but also suggestions regarding the activation of voting about the return of the military. One of the supported initiatives is the organization of meetings of families of prisoners together with international organizations.
Many issues related to the neutrality of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in particular, they demanded the fulfillment of its mandate and expressed a demand to name the facts of the denial of representatives committee by the Russian side to Ukrainian prisoners of war.
